Time-Lapse Planner
Estimate how many images you will capture, how long the finished video will play and how much space the images may need. Calculations stay in your browser.
- Estimated frame count
- Final video duration
- Estimated image storage

What the numbers mean
Frames = round up (duration in minutes × 60 ÷ interval in seconds). We assume an immediate first frame at time zero, followed by frames strictly before the end of the capture duration. Actual app scheduling, exposure length, camera delays and thermal limits can change the result.
Video duration in seconds = frames ÷ output frame rate. Image storage in MB = frames × expected MB per image. This planner uses decimal units: 1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes and 1 GB = 1,000 MB.
A worked example
A 60-minute capture at a 5-second interval produces an estimated 720 images. At 30 fps, that is 24 seconds of video. At 25 MB per image, the sequence needs about 18,000 MB (18 GB).
Storage covers source images only. Allow additional free space for temporary files, app data and an exported video. RAW size varies by device and scene; this is not a promise of exact capacity. Keep exposure time shorter than the interval and test the intended settings first.
